Concert fundraiser for Rehab UK Charity (as published in the Montessori International magazine, issue 93, Oct-Dec 2009, photo courtesy Weston Mercury)
A great morning was held at the Stanger Montessori School in Weston-super-Mare. Our children gave an outstanding performance in the concert singing solos, duets and in groups. They also read poems of their own choice. The Lord Mayor of Weston, Mr Andrew Horler, came to help us raise funds. Cream teas with luscious scones and strawberry jam were available, which our parents kindly provided. It was a full house – in fact, standing room only!
The children were brilliant and loved every moment, and the parents were full of admiration their little ones achievements. We managed to raise £300 for the Rehab Charity which rehabilitates children and adults following a brain injury. It was much more poignant this year due to one of our young fathers who died in this way.
Directress Jacqueline Stanger-Davies would like to thank everyone who helped make this a wonderfully successful event.
