Notice of Closure - 22nd July 2011
 

After over 20 wonderful years of teaching and supporting children and their families the Stanger Montessori School in Weston-super-Mare, run by John and Jacqui Davies, is closing. Head teacher, Jacqui Stanger-Davies, will be continuing to share her Montessori experience in the community through lectures and events. Current and former children, parents and teachers wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

An opportunity exists in Weston-super-Mare for nursery to primary school age children to learn and develop using the Montessori methods and equipment. See what Ofsted say.

 

Our First School:  There is no typical day at our Montessori First School in Weston-super-Mare. The structured environment of a nursery school is missing; children make their own choices and build the skills they want at our Montessori First School.  We focus uniquely on each individual child, unlike nurseries who often have to fit all children into a standard timetable of activities. Please look at our Montessori First School page for further information.
 
Children also visit the beach, woods, churches, cafes and other places around Weston-super-Mare to help them develop their understanding and aid their development. Also please see our Montessori First School Events page.
 
The Stanger School of Montessori (First School): Provides parents with the opportunity to help their nursery to primary school age children (2-7 years old) learn uniquely and develop using accredited Montessori methods and equipment based on over 100 years of experience.
Montessori Method:
Parents who choose to send their child to our Montessori First School in Weston-super-Mare will find our alternative approach to pre-school primary education different from other first schools and nurseries.  We give the children the tools they need to educate themselves; focussing our activities around each individual child’s developmental stage.

Unlike a typical first school education, our  Montessori First School methods help the children with us develop understanding using a range of Montessori equipment and exercises. See our Montessori information page.


Focussed Development: 
The ratio of five children to one teacher at our First School in Weston-super-Mare enables us to focus on each child, supporting their learning in the most appropriate way to their development needs and the ideal nursery first school primary education.

Facilities: In addition to our classrooms, we also have a large enclosed garden at our Montessori First nursery school in Hamilton Road, Weston-super-Mare.  Always open to the children, the garden provides a split-level playroom, a large sand pit, a Montessori Castle/Fort, balance beam, a climbing frame, wooden bridge and slides.

Parent and Toddler Group: *NEW DAY & TIME* Come and join us for this popular session now on the last Saturday morning of the month (term time only) from 10.30am to 12.00pm.  Charge of only £3.00 includes child snack & drink.  Please see Parent and Toddler page for more information & schedule, also remember to pre-book as places are limited.
